This is a pair of two small cross stitch patterns, based on extracts from a sampler stitched in West Yorkshire in 1824. The patterns could be made up into cushions as illustrated in the photos or as small pictures. The patterns are done in full cross stitch and can be stitched on linen or aida. There is a small amount of double cross stitching on the Bird cushion, with a diagram to illustrate how these compare to standard cross stitch.
The Flowers Cushion design measures 149 stitches wide and 97 stitches high. Stitched on 32 count, it will make a picture of around 9 ⅜ inches wide and 6 ⅛ inches high.
The Bird Cushion design measures 76 stitches wide and 48 stitches high. Stitched on 32 count, it will make a picture of around 4 ¾ inches wide and 3 inches high
