Toxic City Flowerpot - Barbara Ana Designs
With Barbara Ana, names are as whimsical as the patterns themselves and don't always provide clues. And that's what we love about the designer: her creative urge, her wild imagination, the inexpected directions every new design takes.
Why this design? Because it was inspired by a flower pot she had handpainted helself, and she "just felt the need to do it" in cross stitch.
The strange doll-like flower pot is shaped like it were a doll carved out of a wooden cylinder. Out of the precariously balanced vase, flows a whole world of exotic flowers, oversize mushroom, a strange pair of fruit -are they apples, hearts? Within this universe, on a much smaller scale is a landscape of tiny houses surrounded by trees. Thread colors are a striking mix of aqua blue and red, with black and orange highlights, every single tone playing a role in the delicate balance of colors.
Stitching this design will keep you entertained for many hours as you stitch each area, always discovering new surprising details.
